 It’s a great way to “pay” for services without spending a dime, while discovering your own otherwise untapped resources and getting to know our community. After all, just because money is tight doesn’t mean we lack economic value — and by eliminating the cash transaction, we’re really just getting back to the roots of a civilized economy.
What is a time bank? Time banking is a convenient way of exchanging services. For every hour you spend doing something for someone in your community, you earn one hour. Then you have one hour to spend on someone doing something for you. It’s that simple!
Why join? There are many benefits to joining Hour Exchange Pagosa. Time Banking is a great way to get your needs met! For example, say you really need that fence fixed but don’t have the time or tools to do it. Hour Exchange to the rescue! Another benefit would be offering services that you really love. You may be an accountant as your chosen profession, but really enjoy taking people on horseback rides. Time banking redefines work to include each person’s unique gifts. And, because everyone’s hour is valued equally, time banking fosters respect and is a great way to build healthy relationships based on the understanding that we need and value everyone’s contributions equally.
