Five Appointed to Tourism Commission
Karin Kohake | 3/3/10
Back to the News Summaries
The Archuleta County Board of Commissioners yesterday appointed five citizens from the community for a two year term to the newly restructured County Tourism Commission.

The new members are Kate Alfred, Jerry Baker, Jeff Greer, Marsha Preuit and Karin Kohake. Kohake will serve as the County staff representative.

The County Tourism Commission, in existence since 1987, has previously functioned as a seven member board appointed by the BoCC to administer tourism funds generated by revenues collected from the County Lodger’s Tax.

On January 19, the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution 2010-3 which restructured the County
Tourism Commission to more accurately reflect the current goals and existence of the group.

The new County Tourism Commission will be meeting within the next few weeks. All meetings are posted in the County Courthouse.
