On Sunday, February 14, the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will hear a presentation by Susan Junta, past president of the Pagosah UU Fellowship, entitled "Standing on the Side of Love."
This is the name of a public advocacy campaign born out of the tragic shootings at a UU church in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2008.
Susan points out that "Contrary to the sweet and sentimental passive concept of romantic love (falling in love), the love reflected in this campaign, as well as in the entire history of the UU religion, is an active force, choosing love over hate and fear to bring about justice, mercy, and equality in the world through non-violent action."
The children's program will also celebrate this special day, where congregations across the nation will worship and practice acts of love. This campaign celebrates communities, and the young people will sing, dance and share . . . honoring all people, in the name of love.
The service begins at 10:30am in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the Fire Station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign.
All are welcome. |
