Peace on earth, goodwill to men: What a lovely thought. As long as we've been on this earth, It's what nice folks have sought. But why is it just something that We talk and think about, While hating folks and fighting wars, Seems we can't do without? And what's this philosophic talk Have to do with Nello's? There've been no fights, just warm respect Among its music fellows. The gang that comes at five o'clock To eat, drink, and be jolly Each Wednesday eve, just has no time For anti-social folly. Perhaps the fun and fellowship That marks each jazz occasion Should be the model for the world, Toward a friendlier persuasion!
Happy New Year! |
