Rough, tuff, Carhartt to corporate casuals, The Outfitter provides top-quality apparel to the American Worker.
The Outfitter opened in 2006, in an old Pizza Hut building just west of downtown Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
The well-respected Carhartt brand formed the core of The Outfitter’s product selection right from the beginning. Although other well-known brands such as Outback Trading Company, Dri-Duck, Leatherman Tool, Merrell, Redwing and Georgia Boot, have been a welcome compliment to the Carhartt selection, Carhartt is still the main attraction at this growing Department Store.
Over the years, The Outfitter has evolved into a true department store. You can shop there for apparel and footwear for all ages. The Outfitter also carries sporting goods, and accessories to keep everyone interested while shopping.
The Outfitter Department Store is a family business, with Karen, Bruce, and sons Charlie and Bruce all participating. “Whenever we would discuss the idea of starting a retail business, the boys would bring up the idea of a skateboard shop. When we converted the old Pizza Hut building, we all realized that the former video arcade room would make a perfect skate shop. We finally gave it a name this year; we call it the Skateboard Hut. The boys take care of the Skateboard Hut while Mom and Dad run the rest of the store.
